Visiting Queensland Museum

Wheelchair Access Review

The Queensland Museum is one of my favourite places to visit while at the Brisbane South Bank. Over the years I have visited the Queensland Museum a number of times as it is the home to Brisbane’s diverse range of exhibitions and events, from showcasing permanent displays to Touring Exhibitions. The Queensland Museum is fully wheelchair accessible and is located at the Brisbane South bank in the Queensland Cultural Centre.

Accessibility And Facilities

All entrances and areas within the Queensland Museum are wheelchair accessible via lift or ramp access. Disabled parking spaces are available on the lower level of the car park, and accessible toilet facilities are on Level 0, Level 1 and Level 2. There is a step free Museum gift shop on level 2 and a Museum cafe offering contemporary dishes.

The Queensland Museum is also home to the Science Centre located on level 1. This is where kids can learn about science and interact with displays. The Science Centre offers an accessible family friendly environment and several kid friendly events throughout the year.

Queensland Museum Admission

The general entry to the Queensland Museum is free. However, Limited Time and Touring Exhibitions along with Special events have a ticket fee. For paid events, the Queensland Museum accepts the Carer companion card for free entry for carers.

Getting There

Public Transport options: The Museum is located within walking distance of South Brisbane railway station, Cultural Centre Busway station and South Bank CityCat Ferry terminal. We normally catch the Train or City Cat into the South bank to visit the Queensland Museum. All transport options are wheelchair accessible.
